I’ve been meaning to go for a hike in Morzine for ages, but since starting to freelance I always find a work-related excuse not to. So yesterday I finally went.
To be fair I didn’t actually get that far because I was on my own and I planned to get back to a cafe to fit in some work in the afternoon. But, I did download a hiking app that could record my distance, route and steps etc. and did 6km in total! I kept stopping every 2 minutes to take photos so it probably took me a lot longer than it should have, but it was nice to just get out even just for a couple of hours.
Before doing a winter ski season here in Morzine, I never would have considered doing a summer season in The Alps, purely because I didn’t realise how much there was to do in the summer.
- Mountain biking
- White Water Rafting
- Rock climbing
- Zip lines
- Lake swimming
If I come back to do another ski season in the future (which I definitely plan to) I might look at staying on and doing a summer season afterwards. Rent is literally half the price over summer, and I’d aim to be organised enough to get somewhere more central as our flat at the moment is a bit of a walk away from the centre. Next time I’d also 100% make sure I had my own car or van here, as it’d make such a difference. All these things you learn in your first season though!
Anyway, I took my camera (a Nikon D3200) out on my hike yesterday, and here are some of the photos.
Bumped into some pups!
Eventually ended up back out of the woods with a nice view of Morzine and the Route d’Avoriaz, which is where our flat is.
